ANNIERELLA

Perfect for school plays or community theatre (for kids OR adults), ANNIERELLA & the (VERY AWESOME) GOOD QUEEN FAIRY COWMOTHER is a Texas style comedy adaptation of the Cinderella story, with a very unusual fairy godmother and a very different twisty ending.

The play is available in two versions: the award-winning ten-minute version and a longer one-act version.

Annierella lives with her stepmother, Eula Gee, and three crazy stepsisters (Mozelda Joe, Brizelda Jane and Frizelda Ann) on a small Texas farm. She wants to go to the huge party given by the rich ranch owner (Roy Bob), but isn't allowed to go because she's got too many chores to do.

To the rescue comes the Good Queen (Very Awesome) Fairy Cowmother, a strange and quirky bovine character with an attitude the size of Texas who wears a tutu and a tiara and is followed around by a group of "mutton minions."

With the use of an old watermelon from the compost patch and a few enchanted armadillos, Annierella gets to the ball in style, red boots and all, then barely gets back home in the nick of time. When the rich rancher comes looking for her, she makes a decision that turns the original story on its head and ends with a shockingly hilarious twist.

The audience will laugh all the way to the happy
but twisted ending. This ain't your mama's Cinderella story!

The 10-minute version of ANNIERELLA was the FIRST PLACE AWARD WINNER in the SUMMER SHORTS 4 CELEBRATION, INTERNATIONAL PLAYWRITING CONTEST, WILLISTON, ND, Youth Education on Stage, in May 2009, directed by Jack Dyville, and was Bobbi's first produced play (and first play she wrote since she was a young child.)
